Can I Help?
One of the things I'm apparently really good at - is inspiring those who wish to be inspired. Why do I say that? Because I discovered that the majority of business people are so focussed on trying to make a living and do what they believe is right for their business, for their employees, for their clients that they are missing the obvious.
There are over 4,000,000 small business owners in the UK and if the truth were to be known, 75% of them should pack up and get themselves a job! They aspire to having their own business, but being really successful is far from easy! Most believe because they have worked for 5, 10 or 25 years they have all the skills. They don’t! Being your own boss is totally different from being employed, even as a boss!
Most small businesses start because as an employed person they:-

Become dissatisfied with what they are doing and believe they can do better.

Knows how much their company charges their customers and the small proportion of it they get paid.

Become unemployed for some reason.

Get a great idea
-
A family member or friend convinces them that they could do whatever they do better if it was their business.
Nothing wrong with this stimuli to start your own business, but the facts are totally different when you get started. Most small business people experience:-
Some, eventually realise that it takes more than just a technical skill to be successful. They create their own businesses and struggle to make a reasonable living, and then a few years down the line they begin to see that they will never be rich, they have become slaves to their businesses and stress creeps into their lives. They usually can’t or won’t jack it in and go back to working for someone else. They don’t want to lose face, they may have large business debts or commitments - Oh God! Why did I ever start this business!!
Thankfully, most of this is avoidable if only they took some guidance and advice from others who have experienced these issues.
This is what mentoring is all about - having someone, like that little voice who questions all you do - who will advise you and help you to move in the right direction and achieve what it is that you really want.
That is one of my roles - I love doing it because I have experienced all the things above and know how hard it can be.
Most people in this situation tell me that they can barely afford to pay themselves let alone have to pay me as well. Sadly their situation will only get worse - all they have to do is to pick up the phone to me. If I could help you direct your business so that the above problems are reduced or removed, turnover and profit are up, would you not be delighted?
