Many years ago a wise woman who had spent a lot of her life in the Far East in the first half of the last century told me when I was a some what younger man, that according to an ancient traditions the spirit and character of a person is not bestowed on them until their fifth birthday.
She explained that when we reach our fifth birthday, that we inherit the spirit of someone somewhere who passed away at that very time.
She asked me if there was anyone from the past who I felt was special in some way. I told her that I had always felt that Albert Einstein was an influence on me, although I didn’t know why. She asked me if I knew much about the man, and I had to admit I did not. I told her that “I always wanted to be like him!”.
Now I don’t know if these traditions are true or just made up stories, but recently whilst doing some research I came across an article about Einstein.
Can you imagine my amazement when I discovered that Einstein who was born on the 17 March 1879 actually died on the 18 April 1955 the exact same day that I became 5 years of age.
Interestingly my core process is ‘Questioning Decisions’ and perhaps that is inline with what Einstein is reputed to have said “The important thing is to never stop questioning.”
Perhaps that is the reason, that in a citation that I was honoured to received in the mid seventies it said at the end … “Jim, your actions surely proved that you have a real spark of genius! - Congratulations!
